Paris

We have been in Paris for 5 days.
We caught a train from London which goes under the water of the English Channel, it took 3 hours.
Paris is busy just like London, we take the underground trains everywhere, it is called the Metro.
We came out of the metro station to go to our house and there was a big clearing where we saw the Eiffel Tower. It was amazing, it was bigger than I imagined. There are lots of hawkers who try to sell you stuff like little Eiffel Towers and other Paris stuff. They are hard to get rid of so you cannot make eye contact with them at all. There are also beggars and street people who sleep in shop doorways.
Yesterday we went to Disneyland. It was bigger than I imagined. Most of the rides we did were pretty intense and made me feel sick, I got roller coastered out!! The Indiana Jones ride did a loop which was pretty disgusting. The rides were the best thing about going to Disneyland, but I loved the castles and shops too.
In Paris we have seen lots of monuments and the buildings are all pretty old. We have seen the Eiffel Tower at night and it is beautiful all lit up with lots of lights.
Today we went up the tower to the top. It was a bit scary going up because the elevator is all glass and you can see the ground dropping away and the steel girders going by. At the top it was a bit depressing because it was a foggy day, but we could still see most of the important buildings of Paris, lots we had visited. Mum and dad are very kind and we have not gone into any museums, but lots of churches! There are heaps of museums and galleries here.
Everything is very expensive and my money that I had saved up is already just about gone.
We have seen amazing cars here. They are all really little and modern. Do you know which side the steering wheel is on here? Do you know which are the most important buildings that everyone recognises in Paris? Do you what the name of the river is that Paris is built beside?
Does France have a king or queen? Because there are lots of palaces here.

London

We had a big plane ride to London from Auckland to brunei which took 10 hours then from brunei to dubai took about 8 hours then from dubai to London took 8 hours so I was absolutely stuffed! when we got to London we got on a tourist double decker bus. We saw all the major sites. we visited the Tower of London where lots of people were executed and madame Tussaud's wax museum which was so real looking it was hard to believe the people weren't real.
Yesterday we went to Greenwich and I stood with one foot on each side of the prime meridian. Do you know what that is? I had one foot in the northern hemisphere and one foot in the south.
Today we went to Buckingham Palace and watched the changing of the guards. We saw the underground bunker where the Winston Churchill was during world war two. We went on the London eye - it was a bit scary going up because we were really high.
London is really big, they have a lot of buses and a underground train that we take everywhere. It is really busy all the time.

leaving Nelson

last night I had to sleep on the couch because my room had been totally cleaned for our guests staying in the house.we had emptied the fridge so we had no food left so we went out for dinner.
It was a drama leaving the house this morning because we weren't quite ready and the taxi driver was waiting for us. At the airport my friend Tayla came to see me off.we are now in Auckland staying with my mums friend Lee and have got a rental car for two days. Lee lives on a farm near Pukekohe and she has two dogs called Micky and Sammy and she has lots of horses.
It is nice to have a break before the big flight. It feels great that our holiday has begun I cant wait to see the Eiffel tower and go to Disney land!!!
